Why Vanderbilt?
Vanderbilt encourages students to grow not only academically but also socially.  Social opportunities range from an active Greek system to political interest groups to a variety of volunteer activities.  Each student at Vanderbilt is multifaceted and is given the freedom to pursue his or her interests both inside and outside the classroom.  As a result, the richness and strength of the Vanderbilt community is beyond comparison.

Likes best about Vanderbilt Engineering:
Vanderbilt Engineering understands and emphasizes the importance of communication.  Without this skill, the most ingenious solution to a problem may never be realized.  As a result, Vanderbilt engineers are well-rounded, socially-conscious, and articulate - attributes that are highly prized in both industry and academics.

Likes best about Vanderbilt Chemical Engineering:
The field of chemical engineering has experienced so much growth in so many directions, it is impossible to learn every aspect in four short years.  However, the small department size, interested and invested professors, and a somewhat open course plan allows students to tailor their education to suit their interests, whether in research, industry or business.

Likes best about Nashville:
Nashville is the kind of town where you can always find something to suit your tastes.  There is music (Not just country and western!), art, nature, dancing, and sports throughout the city.  You will never run out of things to do - every time I look, I find something amazing I have never seen before.

What do you expect to do after graduation?
After graduation, I will pursue a Ph. D. in chemical engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
